Play Token Trail

The goal

Get all four of your tokens home before your opponents do. Tokens begin in a burrow, travel clockwise along the trail, and need the exact count to finish. You can play solo against Forest AI or open a trail for friends.

Rules to know before you roll

  • Leave the burrow on a 1 or a 6. These rolls let you bring a critter onto the trail.
  • Move clockwise. Follow the trail toward home.
  • A 6 grants another roll. Three consecutive sixes, however, lose the turn.
  • Capture rivals to send them back. Capturing also grants another roll.
  • Watch for mossy safe squares. Safety on the trail is part of planning where to move.
  • Finish on the exact count. The first player to bring all four tokens home wins.

Plan around the trail

Getting a token out of the burrow is only the beginning. You also need to bring the rest into play and guide them toward the finish. Before moving, look at which tokens are exposed, which can reach safety, and which are close enough to finish on the exact count.

An extra roll can change the shape of a turn. Remember that both rolling a six and capturing a rival can extend your turn, while a run of three sixes carries its own penalty.
